Thur, Feb 16  Student Research Panel (3:30 PM Location TBA) Four former FSH students will discuss their current work in a research lab as well as the process they went through to get this position.  This group of students is diverse in their research settings: USC Main Campus, USC Health Science Campus and other locations in Los Angeles.

Tues, Feb 8   Roundtable Discussion with Dr. Etan Milgrom Staff Physician, Acute Care/Allergy & Immunology, Clinical Associate Professor of Family Medicine, USC Keck School of Medicine. (330-430 Location TBA)  Possible topics: Medical School Admissions, Medical School, the Role of a Physician.

Thur March 22  3:30-4:30 PM (Location TBA)  Research Roundtable Professor Steven Finkel Associate Professor of Biological Sciences in the Molecular & Computational Biology   Possible Topics:  Undergraduate Research, Stem Cells

Thur, April 12  NASA's Jet Propulsion Lab Speaker Series: Gale Crater: Exploring the Mars Science Laboratory Landing SitePrior to the speaker, you will have time to enjoy the exhibits in the JPL Museum (Departing campus at 5 PM. Return to campus around 9:30 PM.)

Sat, Apr 14 Aquarium of the Pacific in Long Beach The aquarium has more than 500 species that fill 19 major habitats and 32 focus exhibits and take visitors on a journey throughout the Pacific Ocean's three regions: Southern California/Baja, the Tropical Pacific, and the Northern Pacific. Transportation will be via LA's Metro Blue Line - so a chance to practice your public transportation skills!  tion by using the Metro Blue Line!  (Depart USC around 10:30 AM.  Return is flexible).

Students will check out the book Complications:A Surgeon's Notes on an Imperfect Scinece to read over Spring Break.  We will meet twice to discuss some of the ethical problems contained in this reading.

Wednesday, February 9  Freshman/Sophomore Pre-Health Workshop  Informational workshop designed to orient Freshmen and Sophomore students to the Medical, Dental and Allied Health professions.    Key highlights include: prehealth "timeline", academic planning, clinical & volunteer research opportunities and the admissions process.  Presented by the College Advising Office.  (5:30-6:30 PM in PIRC 1016)

On Friday, September 28 the FSH students will travel to USC's Wrigley Campus which is located on Catalina Island.  We will combine learning about the marine environment (including contributions to medical science) with lots of fun!
