I think the best thing about USC is the fact that it is so diverse… I’m not just talking about my colorful background… I’m talking about the schools and the Los Angeles terrain. Dornsife, Annenberg, SCA, Marshall, they all attract such a great variety of talents and LA and its mountains, oceans, parks, deserts etc.
Today I got to do something that was totally out of my… “major zone”… I got to help out on my friend’s student film for his production class, setting up shots and all that jazz. The crew of all different majors and backgrounds were all brought out up into Beverly Hills to spend the day shooting. The view was so beautiful.
English majors, film majors, undecided majors, you name it, we got it covered.
And… you know what they say about English majors… we’re all really athletic and strong… so obviously all that heavy lifting was a piece of cake! (No).
We worked, we relaxed, we wore hazmat suits. The only thing worse than running around in a hazmat suit for an hour is probably having a picnic on the surface of the sun. It’s good to know that if I ever work at a nuclear plant, I’d work so darned tootin’ hard just to avoid wearing one of those again. I was sweating out of places I didn’t even know I could sweat out of.
Anywho, I had a great day and after all that work, I wound down with Thai food. It was so authentic, only in a diverse place like LA would you find such awesome Thai food. (See that? I circled back to the diversity thing!)
That’s it for now. Cool beanz.
