Changing Things Up

Sunday, Amy and I got amazing (if un peu cher) brunch at Le Pain Quotidien (bakery cafe that we have in LA, but it’s a French company so I reason it’s okay that we eat it here), and since that lasted til 5:30 we only had a little time to kill before trivia at the Frog and Princess at 8. So we wandered around St. German des Pres and I finally got the one thing I’ve been actively looking for in Paris: new perfume! It’s called “Tu es mon Essentielle” by Des Filles a la Vanille (a Parisian brand). Obviously the minute I stopped looking for it, I found exactly what I wanted. It smells like vanilla, but on me it smells like oranges? Or maybe that’s just one of the middle notes or whatever they’re called. Either way, I love it and I’m going to wear it every day while I’m here so when I smell it later it will always remind me of my semester in Paris!

Then we (and Danny) played trivia, but we lost because a lot of the questions were about rugby. We won the music round though! Next time we will dominate…and bring more people.

Monday after class I decided I needed to chop off my hair. Right then. It was too long and too dry and I needed a change considering I don’t think I’ve had my hair cut since the summer. I wandered around avenue Ledru Rollin (near Accent) for a while looking for somewhere cheap-ish and I found un coiffeur called Gina Gino (I think). While I was looking at the prices outside, the owner was smoking (obviously) and we got to talking, and I decided I’d go there and take the risk. Here are the results!

She curled it as she blew it dry, so I think it’s actually a tad longer than it looks. She gave me a poster to put up at Accent, so I got a 10% discount – as will any other Accent people. Score!!
