Hi everyone!

My name is Caroline, and I am sophomore and a double major in History and Film Production. This is my second year as a Trojan, and I can’t imagine being anywhere but USC!! I grew up Caroline Intro Photomoving all over the country, most recently living in Colorado and Texas. Coming to USC with such a diverse background has been awesome because I meet people from all over the world every day!

One of the greatest things about academic life so far has been taking all sorts of different classes. Through the general education program I have taken courses on Hydrology, Don Quixote, Ancient Chinese thought, and many more. Although I have two specific majors, it’s been great experimenting in subjects I never thought I’d be interested in.

I also have been able to pursue history and film in and outside of the classroom. One of my favorite classes last year was CTCS 190 “Introduction to Film.” During every class we watched a movie and had a two hour lecture on topics ranging from design to performance to composition. This semester I’m really enjoying History 201, essentially a “How to be an Historian” class that is totally changing my outlook on the study of the past. I’m super pumped to continue both my majors in Dornsife and the School of Cinematic Arts.

Outside of class, I’m very involved in a few different clubs and activities. I have been volunteering for Trojan Vision, the campus television station, since last year. This semester I started a show with another student where I lead a team of producers and create a 30-minute live broadcast once a week! I also am a student intern at the USC Shoah Foundation, a genocide awareness organization which houses over 50,000 video testimonies from Holocaust survivors. It’s really wonderful assisting an organization hoping to change the future through remembrance of the past. Other areas I am involved in are Greek life (Alpha Chi Omega) and Campus Crusade.

I LOVE Saturday football (Fight on!!), exploring campus, and enjoying the LA sunshine. I’m so excited to be a Dornsife Ambassador and share my enthusiasm for this school with you!! Follow me on Twitter: @CarolineeeUSC
