My name is Michelle, and I am currently a sophomore. I am double-majoring in International Relations and Policy, Planning, and Development. I am from Orange County, California, and I absolutely love living in the city of Angels!
In addition to being a Dornsife student ambassador, I work as a program coordinator at the Center for Active Learning in International Studies (CALIS). Our center runs service-learning programs that send USC students to team-teach in local high schools and foster a better understanding of local-global connections in the students through our Teaching International Relations Program (TIRP) and Teaching Ethics Program (TEP). I am also a member of Troy Camp which holds mentorship and tutoring programs, a week-long summer camp, and monthly events for kids in the local community. I am a Center for Excellence in Teaching Undergraduate fellow as well.
At USC, there’s just so, so much to be involved in and so many on-campus events all the time that you can attend. (And, a lot of these events offer free food, so why not enjoy the free food and learn about something new or an interest that you never knew you had?). I particularly love attending Visions and Voices events because you can see so many amazing performers and listen to inspiring speakers. There is also so much you can do in the area surrounding USC. I love exploring delicious food joints in LA, biking around the city, attending concerts, hiking in the area near Griffith Observatory, and visiting museums.
I fell in love with USC after attending an Explore USC session, and I must say, I could not be happier with my decision to attend this amazing university.
I will be more than happy to answer any questions you may have! Comment on this post or tweet me @michivle.
