I’m Melissa and I’m loving my new role as a Dornsife Ambassador! I’m a sophomore majoring in Biological Sciences, and I’m also a pre-pharmacy student in the Trojan Admission Pre-pharmacy program. I’m from the Bay Area, but can say that USC is my second home.
Since arriving in Los Angeles, I’ve been able to explore a lot of the city. I particularly enjoy going to concerts – from the intimate performances at tiny venues like the Bootleg Theatre to the massive stadium concerts. Who doesn’t stop in LA on a tour?
On any given day, you might find me in between classes on the comfy new couches of Grace Ford Salvatori Hall (GFS), under the arches of Mudd Hall (so relaxing!), or at the Lyon Center gym. I’m always hanging out in the GFS foyer because my organic chemistry class is in the building next door, and my professor’s office is nearby as well. Shout out to Dr. Jung for being the best professor I’ve had the opportunity to learn from!
In addition to being a Dornsife Ambassador, I’m part of a few other organizations on campus. I’m the public relations chair of USC Colleges Against Cancer (come out to Relay For Life! seriously), a layout designer for USC’s yearbook (El Rodeo), a member of SC Outfitters, and I work as an event usher at Bovard Auditorium.
This blog post was actually longer earlier, but I’ll save those words for later…so I can add in more detail! For now, you can follow me on Twitter at MelissaLingSC.
