Well, it’s finally here. The end of my first semester of freshman year. And it’s been one heck of a ride.
Am I happy to leave the land of eternal summer for a cold, harsh reality check? In a way, yes. I didn’t realize it until I actually got here, but I do miss my friends… and my family. The new experiences and freedom associated with college was so fantastic, but sometimes I just want my mom’s fresh-out-of-the-oven chocolate chip cookies more than anything else, you know?
So, do I think that I accomplished everything one should in their first semester? Let’s look at the list:
- Made new lifelong friends? Check.
- Experienced L.A.? Check.
- Learned how to longboard? Check.
- Gotten involved? Check.
- Managed to keep grades up? Check.
- Pulled an all-nighter? Too many checks to count.
- And most importantly: Began a new life? Check.
All in all, it’s been a great time. The USC experience is one that I am going to miss for this month of winter break… and one that I can’t wait to come back to in January! Coming to USC was the best decision of my life… Now, it’s time to make my friends back home jealous because of it!
Until next semester,
Adam (A.K.A. “Feissty”)
