Summary:

Graduate students and faculty across departments are invited to join this collaboration with University Paris 8 in September 2012.

Description:

How is justice created? Who is responsible?

Leading voices of international society tend to agree on common values of human rights, economic justice and environmental stewardship. This interdisciplinary conference will question how such values are mobilized in public controversies, how they are practically implemented and how they are turned into political initiatives or other mechanisms for ethical responsibility.

This two-day workshop conference will discuss topics of common interest around continuing questions of global justice raised by our first collaborative conference in April 2011 at USC. The aim is to move beyond describing problems and toward developing themes of responsibility in creating justice and remedying injustice.

Individuals who did not participate in last year's conference are invited.

Please see our website for the full call for papers, submission details and more specific conference topics.

Conference wil take place in the fall of 2012, submission deadline is May 31.
